2018 Detroit Auto Show: WXYZ-TV Hits the Red Carpet with Live Broadcast

WXYZ-TV Channel 7, the Official Television Partner of the NAIAS Charity Preview, will broadcast its “Red Carpet Charity Preview” special live Friday, Jan. 19, from 7-8:30 p.m. Channel 7 Action News anchors Stephen Clark and Carolyn Clifford with host the program, joined by the 7 Action News morning team, Malcom Maddox, Alicia Smith, Keenan Smith and Ann Marie LaFlamme, along with 7 Action News anchors Glenda Lewis and Dave LewAllen and 7 Action Sports’ Brad Galli.

The show will feature the latest in automotive technology and style trends and interviews with top automotive executives. An encore presentation of “Red Carpet Charity Preview,” will air on Saturday, Jan. 20, at 8:30 a.m.

WXYZ-TV will continue its NAIAS coverage with “Cars Are Stars,” a half-hour special airing on Saturday, Jan. 20, at 7:30 p.m. (with an encore presentation on Sunday, Jan. 21, at 11:30 a.m.). The special will take an insider’s look at the latest trends in automotive safety and the future of mobility, including a tour of Mcity, a testing facility for autonomous vehicles.

Channel 7 Family Day returns to NAIAS on Friday, Jan. 26. This free event will feature appearances from 7 Action News personalities, live music, fun and interactive events for kids, giveaways and much more.

A special digital Tweetup during preview week gave a select group of WXYZ Twitter followers a chance to get a sneak peek of the show before it opened to the public.
