Nashville, TN (August 2018) - Lane Motor Museum's Amphibious 1992 Hobbycar B612 sank to the bottom of Percy Priest Lake in Nashville on Saturday, August 11 during the Lane Motor Museum's Annual Amphibious Vehicle event for Museum Members.

Nobody was hurt as Lane's Amphicar was nearby to help the passengers from the sinking vehicle. A search and recovery team from Shotwell SCUBA in Nashville located and pulled the Hobbycar from the lake on Tuesday, August 14.

“The most important thing here is that everyone is alright,�?? said Jeff Lane, Lane Motor Museum Director. “Now that we have recovered the Hobbycar, we're going to figure out what happened and begin restoration immediately.�??

The unusual Hobbycar B612 amphibian was introduced to the world at the 1992 Paris Motor Show. It is a mid-engined, jet-drive, forward-control four-seater, designed to be offered as seen, or with an optional four-door rigid top, or as a pick-up. Steering on dry land is conventional, by the steering wheel, while in the water, control is by joystick.
