Now they take it a step further with pictures of  the trailer ‘I am cool’, showing how the designers found their inspiration  for the new model. That should attract the younger generation.

I have my doubts if the T-Cross will be really cool. Volkswagen claims its design is ‘charismatic and masculine’. But as far as I can see now,  the T-Cross is just one of those small SUVs.

Moreover, it will not be built on the MQB architecture that is used now for the new models such as the T-Roc,  but on the low-cost MQB AO platform that has been specifically developed for the Indian subcontinent. Indeed, it was not designed for European or North American customers,  where it will not be available. It will, however, also be sold in South America.

The exterior of the T-Cross has a front end, with the bonnet and headlights integrated outside the radiator grille. . The pronounced shoulders continue into a reflector strip running across and bordered by black trim. There will be twelve colors and the T-Cross will also be available in different bi-color paintwork as an option.

The designers have focused on a the spacious interior – virtually using augmented reality. They tested the ergonomics as well as the” ambience and experienced the T-Cross of tomorrow live today in order to perfect it further” .

At the same time, they got a feeling for what it will be like for the first customers when their songs from the smartphone media library or streaming services resound through the interior of the new SUV via the "beats" sound system.

The new model will be launched early next year.
