KNOXVILLE, Tenn. November 05, 2018 In celebration of its 60th anniversary, Pilot Flying J is donating $2 million to more than 20 nonprofit organizations around the country. These organizations are focused on supporting military heroes and their families as well as helping communities where Pilot Flying J guests and team members live and work.

“We are grateful to the millions of guests and thousands of team members who have fueled our business for 60 years,” said James A. Haslam II, founder of Pilot Flying J in a press release. “To celebrate this great achievement, we wanted to say thank you in a meaningful way that honors our history and will make a positive difference in the communities we serve.”

The largest operator of travel centers in the U.S., Pilot Flying J is a veteran-founded company and has partnered with Hire Heroes USA, Bunker Labs, Fisher House and Folds of Honor. This act of charitable giving will help provide cost-free housing to veterans and their families who are taking care of injured family members. Other partner organizations such as the Boys and Girls Club of America, Feeding America and Trucker Buddy International focus on health and wellness, access to food and academic success.

Pilot Flying J also is offering a free breakfast for active-duty military on Veterans Day. And from November 10 to 12, both active-duty and retired military veterans can enjoy a free Pilot Coffee and PJ Fresh breakfast sandwich, packaged pastry or Cinnabon Center of the Roll with the Pilot Flying J app.
