DUBLIN--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The "Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System Market by Propulsion Type, Vehicle Type, Electric Two-Wheeler (E-Scooter/Moped, E-Motorcycle), Sales Channel (OEM, Aftermarket), Mounting Position (Integrated, Separated), and Region - Global Forecast to 2027" report has been added to ResearchAndMarkets.com's offering.

The Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System Market is Projected to Reach USD 5,615 Million By 2027 from an Estimated USD 425 Million in 2019 at a CAGR of 38.1%

Acoustic Vehicle Alerting Systems (AVAS) are sound emitting devices assembled in pure and hybrid electric vehicles that produce a lower level of sound than traditional ICE vehicles whenever the vehicle is operating at low speeds to warn pedestrians and other vulnerable road commuters about the vehicle's presence. Also, the sound rises and drops in its pitch to signal whether the vehicle is accelerating or decelerating, respectively.

The electromobility sector has evolved at a rapid pace with advanced automotive technologies and continuous developments in automotive engineering. The safety of commuters/pedestrians has been given significant importance since the adoption of electric vehicles. Electric vehicles are quieter in operation, and therefore, less perceptible than vehicles with ICEs.

Many governments across the globe have formulated mandates to make blind or visually impaired people aware of the presence of electric vehicles around them. However, researchers have suggested alternative options to AVAS, such as automatic emergency braking systems that can address similar safety challenges. At present, in Europe, as per the mandates, decibels emitted by these sound generators should be a minimum of 56 dB at low speed of up to 20 km/h.

However, in the US, the speed range is a bit higher at 30 km/h enforceable from September 2020. These government regulations are expected to be one of the significant driving factors for the growth of the AVAS market. The key players in the AVAS market are Delphi, Denso, Harman, Mando-Hella Electronics Corp., Aptiv, and Brigade Electronics, among others.
