LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--International CES – The technological prowess of four of Taiwan’s trailblazing, award-winning companies — CyberLink, Mindtronic AI, Ultracker Technology, and Noodoe EV — was clearly evidenced yesterday at the CES 2020 press conference when they unveiled new AIoT technologies that are not only life-changing, life-enhancing but also potentially life-saving.

The “Smart Tech, Smart Future: Taiwan Innovations for 2020 and Beyond” press conference is organized by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), Taiwan’s foremost trade promotion organization. The event showcased groundbreaking technologies, including one of the world’s top AI facial recognition engines, a digital cockpit that alerts and keeps distracted and fatigued drivers safe, a virtual tour camera for 360 photo-taking, and a 24/7, cloud-based electronic vehicle service that encourages the transition to a green, zero-emissions future.

“In light of rising global AIoT and 5G trends, Taiwan is fast establishing itself as the region’s AI talent hub. And with 5G smartphones expected to reach 140 million units in sales this year, Taiwan chipset makers are boosting production to meet global demand,” said Eva Peng, Manager of the Strategic Marketing Department of TAITRA. “We are proud of Taiwan companies’ continued contributions to the global information technology ecosystem and look forward to more collaborations with our business partners in the exciting decade ahead.”

The 2020 press conference also included short presentations from each of the featured companies. They are:

1. CyberLink – FaceMe®
Addressing an enthusiastic audience, Richard Carriere, CyberLink’s Senior Vice President of Global Marketing, demonstrated FaceMe®’s many applications, including for security, access control, public safety, smart retail, home protection and healthcare. FaceMe® is today one of the world’s top facial recognition engines with an accuracy rate (TAR, True Acceptance Rate) of 99.5% at 10-4 FAR. The company has collaborated with 100+ global partners to deploy FaceMe® across multiple IoT/AIoT scenarios. The company has also shipped several hundred million copies of its multimedia software and apps, including the award-winning PowerDirector, PhotoDirector, and PowerDVD.

2. Mindtronic AI – AI Automotive Cockpit
A fourth consecutive year CES Innovation Award Honoree, Mindtronic AI presented its digital cockpit, a quantum leap toward added driver safety, convenience, and comfort. Ran Gao, Mindtronic AI’s Senior Director of Strategic Partner and Business Development said that the cockpit is designed for advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS). It employs high quality biometric technology that can not only deliver a luxury user experience but also enhance driver safety by detecting distraction, fatigue, and unresponsiveness in real time, raising alerts and predicting behavior. Through its work with automotive Tier-1’s and OEMs throughout the world, Mindtronic AI is redefining the future of driving.

3. Ultracker – Virtual Tour Camera
Ultracker’s Field Application Engineer Gary Yang presented the company’s groundbreaking Aleta S2C camera that captures 12K (66-megapixel) photos or shoots 4K video, all in panoramic and uniquely clear 360-degree images. The Aleta is emerging as the virtual tour camera of choice and is also ideal for commercial and interior design photography. Since its 2001 inception, Ultracker has established itself as an advanced video system developer and specializes in designing and programming proprietary FPGA-based image systems.

4. Noodoe – EV Charging Stations
The Noodoe EV S1000 station is an advanced, cloud-based operating system that can turn old school parking lots and charging stations into revenue generators. Mr. Thomas Tang, Noodoe’s Vice President of Sales said that as more auto repair shops begin working on electronic vehicles (EV), EV owners will have the convenience of a “one-stop shop” with easy payment methods whenever they have to charge their cars away from home or while getting repairs done. In addition, Noodoe sees their products as a way to make the world greener and cleaner by accelerating the transition to electric transportation.

A large audience of media and industry representatives participated in the “Smart Tech, Smart Future” press conference, Q&A session, and networking opportunities. At least 110 attendees from 14 countries were present. In addition, a global audience of 10,000 watched the livestreamed event.
