Dr. James Marsden, PhD, has advised US Congress, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) on Environmental Controls & Safety in his 40-year career. He served as an official adviser to the USDA during the development of the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) Food Safety Regulation and on issues relating to Food Imports and Transportation. He is the author of numerous scientific publications, books & articles on Food Safety & Environmental Controls. Marsden joined Chipotle in 2016 as the company's Executive Director of Food and Environmental Safety and was responsible for directing their food and environment safety programs and continues to serve on the company's Advisory Council. Dr. Marsden is also a frequent contributor to many food and environment safety publications. He earned his PhD in Food Safety from Oklahoma State University and was a Professor at Kansas State University for more than 20 years.
