GREENVILLE, S.C., July 2020 —Michelin announced their latest ultra-high-performance all-season tire — the Pilot Sport All-Season 4. The new tire was made to provide performance in all conditions and Chevrolet even made them the first all-season original equipment tire on the new Corvette C8.

Michelin’s latest all-season ultra-high-performance tire generation improves on past models with 4% better dry braking, 5% better wet braking and 10% more snow traction. With up to 29% more tread life than leading competitors, the Michelin Pilot Sport All-Season 4 proves that all-season capability and ultra-high-performance can coexist.

  • Superior dry grip: More rubber on the outer shoulder helps deliver exceptional lateral grip.
  • Exceptional wet grip: Our race-inspired tread compound is engineered with maximum levels of silica to grab hold of slick pavement.
  • Snow traction: Grab loose snow to help control acceleration and braking in winter conditions.
  • Supercar certified: The first all-season, original equipment tire for the Chevrolet® Corvette.
Michelin has released its latest ultra-high-performance all-season tire — the MICHELIN® Pilot® Sport All-Season 4. The tire is designed to provide year-round performance and give drivers ultimate control in any moment, in any season.

Michelin’s previous all-season ultra-high-performance tire broke the performance barrier between summer tires and all-season tires. The latest generation improves on that performance with 4% better dry braking, 5% better wet braking and 10% more snow traction1.

The tire’s Asymmetric Tread Pattern includes more rubber on the outer shoulder, which helps deliver lateral dry grip. The superior wet grip is the result of a race-inspired tread compound engineered with maximum levels of silica to grip slick pavement. The large rain groove evacuates water from under the tire to prevent hydroplaning.

To further complement wet performance, 360-Degree Variable Sipe Technology – consisting of full-depth and interlocking sipes – provides biting edges for improved traction in rain and snow.

“We built this tire for passionate drivers who need their vehicles to perform in wet, dry or even cold, snowy conditions,” said Michelin brand director Matthew Cabe. “This tire covers 85% of the market, and the new generation includes sizes for the most popular high-performance vehicles being sold today.”

Michelin’s previous generation of the Pilot Sport All-Season proved that all-season and ultra-high-performance capabilities were possible in the same tire. In a testament to the new generation’s ability to provide supercar-worthy performance, Chevrolet made it the first all-season original equipment tire on the new Corvette C8, proven both on and off the track.

The MICHELIN® Pilot® Sport All-Season 4 was developed with Dynamic Response Technology, which ensures forces and temperatures are distributed evenly for a longer tread wear life. The tire has up to 29% more tread life than leading competitors2.

The tire has a Z speed rating and will be available in 105 sizes, with 31 new SKUs to include larger rim sizes for more coverage of the SUV/CUV market. The tire fits high-performance vehicles, including:

  • Alfa Romeo Giulia
  • Audi Q7, A8, S4
  • BMW X5
  • Chevrolet Corvette C8
  • Lexus IS
  • Mercedes GLC and AMG C Class
  • Range Rover Sport
  • Tesla Model X and S
  • Volvo XC90 and XC60
  • VW GTI

The MICHELIN® Pilot® Sport All-Season 4 has 59 sizes available as of July 1, 2020. An additional 46 sizes will be available in July 2021.
