With enough room for both family and friends, the Lexus LX 570 2020 edition offers a bunch of new options: a sporty exterior and interior trim package, a cooled console box, 21-inch wheels, a Luxury package of premium leather, heated steering wheel, four-zone climate control, projector door lamps, and heated and cooled seats to the first and second rows, a 19 speaker Mark Levinson Reference Surround Sound system with 19 speakers, dual-screen, rear-seat entertainment system, a heads-up display, a heated walnut steering wheel, and a seating system for 8 passengers. Whew.

The big 8. Powered by a 383 horsepower V-8 with 403 pound-feet of torque, pulling a 7,000-pound trailor is no problem via an 8-speed automatic transmission with two overdrive gears. Having a gas card with cash/miles rewards would help since you'll be getting 12/16 city/highway and 14 combined mpg.

When taking the LX off road you are armed with a two-speed transfer case, and a crawl control system creeps you over rocks. There is also an adaptive variable suspension much to the delight of the very young and very old passengers. On top of that the LX is going to do some of the adjustments for you with five, yes five, off road driving modes: Rock, Rock and Dirt, Mogul, Loose Rock, and Mud and Sand. Maybe next year for the folks in Louisiana and Florida they will add Flood mode, and for the folks in California, a Fire mode.

The standard Lexus Safety System+ involves a plethera of sensors and cameras for forward-collision warning, pedestrian detection, radar cruise control, and lane departure alert. Perhaps next year they will add lane-centering tech which would be very useful for the freeway portions of a long distance trip.

With the LX 570, your road trip vacation enjoyment will start and end in your driveway as well as your destinations.
