Shopping habits in every industry have been moving online for years, and the UK has been distinctively trailing behind the U.S. in terms of the availability of e-commerce in the automotive industry; this has been emphasised by the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic. Vindis Group – whose dealerships specialise in Audi, Volkswagen, ŠKODA, SEAT and Bentley cars – are now leading the way in e-commerce car purchasing by partnering with leading US ecommerce platform, Roadster.

Providing real-time, buy-it-now, ability across all new and used vehicles, customers can design and purchase their car from the comfort of their own home. The process covers everything from part-exchange valuation of your current car, to finance quotation or cash options and allows full freedom and transparency of the car buying process that fits around our increasingly busier schedules. The system also allows for the company to be the first, and currently only UK dealership group to be able offer finance on Volkswagen Group brands for new cars.

Like other e-commerce platforms that we now use daily, car buying customers will not be confined to business hours, as the Vindis express store front is available 24/7. This is not to deter customers coming to any of the Vindis Group dealerships, which are all based in the east of England – in fact, test driving vehicles is a big part of the buying process. Online buying allows a decision to be made at the buyer’s discretion with the ability to then design and purchase the vehicle at their leisure, via the dealership group’s website.

Peter Toop, Sales and Marketing Director, from Vindis Group comments: “Purchasing across all industries has been shifting online and we strive to lead from the front within our industry. We were therefore really excited to be approached by Roadster, who have vast experience in our sector across the US, with the largest vehicle manufacturers. We are delighted to be the first UK dealership group to take advantage of this incredibly advanced technology. This is a modern, future proofed way for car buyers to take control of their purchase, around their ever busy and demanding lives. It is not a replacement for visiting the dealerships, and we would always welcome customers to come for a test drive as ever before.”

How it works?

Many of us have busy lifestyles and may not have time to order in a dealership. You can purchase a vehicle and have it on your driveway, in these six simple steps…

1.    If you have test driven a vehicle – great! You will be able to find it on the express store and start ordering. Alternatively, you can browse the store using the refine bar at the side or design your vehicle from scratch.

2.    Unlock instant upfront pricing. You will receive the best possible lease or finance terms – and you can get a part exchange quote. Vindis will send a deal sheet outlining all aspects of the purchase.

3.    Receive a firm offer within three business hours for your part exchange.

4.    Complete a finance application and upload the relevant documents.

5.    Review the final data sheet, accept and you are ready for your new car.

6.    Schedule delivery to a chosen address – or collect from a dealership. Vindis experts will help set up any features and they will take your part exchange vehicle too.

Peter Toop continues: “The new online buying solution is very simple and works for both new and used vehicles, with stock from all of our dealerships are available to purchase via the website. The online purchasing team are highly trained and efficient and are always on hand to guide customers through the process.”

You can view all current used cars and check the most up to date prices and design choices of brand-new cars - with any of the Vindis brands - on the website now: www.vindisgroup.com.
