An Upscale Sport Sedan with 365 Horses

How do you improve the 2019 award-winning G70? (North American Car of the Year 2019, IIHS Top Safety Pick plus Top Choice, and JD Power's Best Initial Quality for 2019). Answer: subtle adjustments and keeping the value high while keeping your sticker price at about half of the 100K German luxury sport sedans.

The 3.3T label comes from the 3.3 liter twin turbo GDI V6 with 365 horsepower. That creates 376 lb/ft of torque which is sent to the rear wheels via an eight speed automatic with limited-slip differential. The result is powerful thrust at all speeds accompanied by baritonal growl from the twin exhaust pipes. You can also adjust the G70's personality by dialing up five drive modes: Smart, Eco, Comfort, Sport and Custom. The modes adjust engine response, steering, and suspension to suit road conditions as well as your fancy.

When it comes to safety the Genesis Advanced Safety Technology is a very comprehensive system: 7 Airbags with driver’s knee airbag, Forward Collision Avoidance Assist with pedestrian detection, Rearview Camera with parking guidelines, High Beam Assist, Hillstart Assist Control, and a Brembo Braking System which was highly effective when a stray cat darted out into the road ahead. The Brembos bit the road (however the cat didn't even look back)

The interior is very well appointed. The 7” Color LCD Multi-Information Display through the steering wheel with a much appreciated Heads Up Display as well, and an 8” Touchscreen navigation system with a reasonable amount of manual knobs and a completely competent voice command system. Kudos for the wireless charger in front of the leather wrapped gear shift to satiate those electron-hungry smart phones. Top it off with a Lexicon 15-speaker system with Quantum Logic Surround Sound and Clari-Fi by Harman, and let the music play.

Quite simply, the G70 is a remarkable sports sedan and a remarkable value.
