"SHARE THE DREAM"

By Marc J. Rauch

I've developed a program called "SHARE THE DREAM" ("Comparte El Sueño" in Spanish and "Compartilhe O Sonho" in Portuguese). The program will offer long-term living accommodations, along with meals and clothing) to the tens of thousands of new immigrants (pioneers) that are expected to cross into the United States now that Joe Biden is in office.

The living accommodations, food, and clothing will be requisitioned from those individuals who are financially able to do so and have expressed the strong desire to share the "bounty" of America with new pioneers. We are currently in the final stages of creating the forms that will be sent to the "benefactors," requiring them to identify the properties they own, the amount of total land, the size and configurations of any buildings currently standing on the properties, number of bath and toilet facilities, and food preparation areas.

The "benefactors" will consist of entertainment and sports world celebrities, politicians, and corporate executives. It's a bit too early to identify some of the specific "benefactors," but I'm certain you will recognize many of the names when you hear them (people such as Cher, Bette Midler, Jimmy Kimmel, Seth Meyers, Stephen Colbert, Nancy Pelosi, Gavin Newscum, Jerry Brown, Debra Messing, John Legend, LeBron James, etc., etc.

The pioneers will be met at the usual border crossings between Southern California and Northern Mexico. They will be offered a choice of destinations throughout Southern California (including San Diego, Imperial, Orange, Los Angeles, Ventura, and Santa Barbara). Destination counties in the northern part of the state will include San Francisco, Alameda, Contra Costa, Monterey, Solano, Santa Clara, Marin, Sonoma, Napa, and Mendocino. One of our next steps is to secure the vehicles that will be used in the transportation of the pioneers. And we will start looking for full-time program volunteers to assist in the implementation of the program. We don't anticipate being able to offer any compensation to the program volunteers, but we expect that the volunteers will seek financial support from their family members, and in some instances to qualify for various unemployment payments, housing allowances, and food stamps.

Frankly, I believe this will become one of the most important social programs ever created to benefit our fellow humans. Can I count on you to volunteer and contribute to this compassionate and dignified program?
