Having become a staple of the American conversation around Formula 1 and to a increasing degree sports entertainment in general, the Drive to Survive series from Netflix is now in its fourth season and has woven itself into the essence of the sport’s appeal to many new and some more seasoned fans of the sport.

Relevance has been a key factor to increase Formula 1’s audience growth, and over the previous three seasons, ‘Drive to Survive’ has presented F1’s landscape and participants in a simple but important way - by showing up - and filming inside what had been a very closed and somewhat cloistered sport in years past.

As part of its stewardship of Formula 1, American owner Liberty Media brought Netflix on board in 2018 in an effort to capitalize on the human drama inside the sport in a continuous effort with storylines that carry throughout an entire season. The results have put a spotlight on many whose personal hurdles and triumphs aren’t always visible on the podium, and created series stars who now shine in front of new audiences.

Fans haven’t gotten enough yet, and following a spectacular season long battle for the 2021 championships, the behind the scenes footage captured by the series is sure not to disappoint:

‘Drive to Survive’ Season Four on Netflix premieres Friday, March 11 at 12:00am.
