It is always a good idea in engineering design to plan ahead and create expansion capability. In the case of the standard ID 4 with its single motor on the rear axle putting out 201 horsepower and 229 pound-feet of torque, the plan from the beginning was to add a second motor in in the front and add another 107 hp and 119 lb-ft of torque and arrive at a total of 295 hp and 339 lb-ft which would drive the 0-60 mph down to five and a half seconds. After all if you are going electric it makes sense to include the sensation of a quiet burst of low end instant torque. The weight of the second engine lowers the range slightly but it is worth it.

Both leatherette front seats are heated and have 8-way power adjustments. The the vibratory massage system is a nice addition for those long hauls. Leg and hip room are good, as are ergonomics and visibility.

And speaking of visibility, the generous moonroof makes for delicious sightseeing in both cities and forests.

The 2nd row seats with a folding pass-thru center armrest got definite thumbs-up from passengers for comfort and space.

Room for luggage, bags or boxes when all seats are in place checks in at 30.3 cu.ft.

Infotainment consists of AM/FM stereo, satellite radio, 7 total speakers, and a USB connection. Voice commands are the way to go rather than tapping the touchscreen.
