From its beginning, the Genesis has successfully won the hearts of many drivers who appreciate reasonably affordable luxury. That ante has been upped by the 2023 GV60 in the form of smooth, silent speed. If you are running an errand and left your key fob in your room, no worries. There is a facial-recognition camera in the driver’s side door and the fingerprint scan button on the center console.

Climbing into the drivers seat, the first catch-your-eye is the gauge and infotainment really widescreen monitor with high resolution graphics. The 17 Bang & Olufsen premium brand audio system puts out 1400 watts stereo surround of killer sound.

Glancing down to the crystal ball like object in the center console which, when to press the START button, lights up and revolves to reveal the shifter with finger cupped indentations to change gear (gear in singular since there is but one gear, but that gear can rocket you from 0 to 60 in 4 seconds. The Performance trim adds a B&O premium audio system, 21-inch wheels, and an electronically-controlled suspension. Range is around 240 miles but the recharge is excellent capable of peak charging at 235 kW, meaning you can go from 10 to 80 percent charge (or 23 miles to 188 miles) in as little as 18 minutes.

Under the hood is a little storage area about the size of a briefcase, and beneath that a 99-hp motor driving the front wheels and a 215-hp motor between the rear wheels. The combined power output of 429 hp can can be launched via the Boost button for a 10 second burst of 483 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque. Wow. It has to be felt to be believed.

Inside, leather and Alcantara abounds. The 10-way power driver seat has power adjustable lumbar support and a thigh extension for long legged folks with roomy dimensions throughout.

The 8-way power passenger seat also gets power adjustable lumbar support. For those lengthy night drives you can put this seat in a "rest" mode which reclines almost flat to let your sleepy passenger doze in comfort. Passenger seat with power adjustable lumbar support.
