The Concours d’Elegance Detroit returns to its new home in the heart of Midtown Detroit for the second year as again the Detroit Institute of Arts plays host to this prestigious event. Part of an international series of events sponsored and operated by Hagerty Events, a subsidiary of the large lifestyle and insurance conglomerate, Hagerty.

This event was first held on the grounds of Meadowbrook then moved the fairways of St. Johns, but last year the event moved to the city and road that put America and the world on wheels, Detroit and its famed Woodward Avenue.

Now the grounds of the Detroit Institute of Arts are the backdrop for this collection of vintage automobiles. The event also showcases the people and companies who have created these vehicles. This year’s theme will not celebrate one individual but the many that made lasting contributions to this industry. Powered by Detroit will be a celebration of the people and the city that built the atomotive culture here in America.

The event is scheduled for September 22 and 23, 2023. Each day features a series of different activities and displays with Friday’s events focused on family. Cars and Community will offer a festival of fun for the entire family to enjoy

From the Motor City Car Club display that will feature cars from across the Midwest to free ride and drive opportunities where attendees can actually ride in a classic car. While the Future Drivers Club with its free activities, there promises to be something for everyone in the family to enjoy. Also returning to Friday’s events is the Raddest of RADwood showcase of awesome hotrods and street rods that can make anything seen on the Fast and Furious blush!

Saturday will be the official Concours d’Elegance that will host 150 historically significant vehicles organized into classes. Each class will then be judged by a panel of experts lead by former GM designer and last year’s honoree, Ed Welburn.

These classes include the designs of Gordon Buehrig, 57 Heaven, Mopar Magic, Ferrari’s of the 60’s, American Sports Cars and last but not least Concours of America Best in Class, a showcase of award winning vehicles from 1970-2021.

This year the event will celebrate the milestone of several well known nameplates including Buick’s 120th anniversary, Porsche’s diamond anniversary, the 60th anniversary of both Lamborghini and McLearn along with the 120th anniversary of an American icon, Harley Davidson.

Each of these outstanding companies will have special displays that will showcase their vehicles and contributions to the industry and the culture they inspired. So mark your calendars for September 22 and 23 and get ready to enjoy and marvel at these amazing cars and motorcycles that will grace the grounds of the DIA.
