NASCAR Winston Cup Series Pontiac Quotes Pepsi 400 Daytona International Speedway July 3, 1997 DAYTONA BEACH, FL - The following provided by Performance Marketing Group: BOBBY LABONTE (#18 Interstate Batteries Grand Prix) - Qualified 20th - "It actually slowed down a little bit from our mock qualifying run. I hope it will race a lot better than it did in qualifying." DERRIKE COPE (#36 Skittles Grand Prix) - Did not qualify; 28th fastest - "We stood it on its nose and still didn't get a lot of speed out there. We'll get this car running a little better, and hopefully, get a good race setup in it for Saturday." BOBBY HAMILTON (#43 Grand Prix) - Qualified 25th - "We ran about that earlier, and we'd gotten a little help when we'd run a 47.90, so we figured we'd run somewhere around 48-flat. That ought to put us in pretty decent shape. We won't be near the front, but we'll be in good shape." JERRY NADEAU (#1 R&L Carriers Grand Prix) - Did not qualify, 39th fastest - "We're still struggling a little bit. That last two races here we had to take a provisional, so we knew where we were headed when we came down here. We really weren't sure what we could do. We didn't come down here and test. We're really trying to catch up, get some cars built, and get ready for the rest of the season. I think we've got a good car to draft with. I've noticed what the Pontiacs have been doing in the draft this year. This is only my third race. We've got a lot to learn."
