TOPEKA, KS - Ron Hornaday and the NAPA Brakes team had a special (Horna)day
this past Saturday at Colorado National Speedway located outside of Denver,
Colo. For the fifth time this year, including a third straight time and
fourth time in five races, Hornaday drove the Dale Earnhardt, Inc. Chevy
truck to a big payday. Hornaday won the pole position for the event (second
of the season) and led 106 of the 250 laps to take the victory.

 - Hornaday now has 15 wins in the NASCAR Truck Series. Just one off Mike
Skinner's (1995 Champion) Truck Series record.

 - This weekend at Heartland Park's 2.1 mile road course in Topeka, Kan.,
Hornaday will be doing double duty. He will compete in the Truck Series
event on Sunday and in the Slim Jim All Pro Series race on Saturday (TNN 4
p.m.). Hornaday will drive the No. 12 NAPA Chevrolet Monte Carlo owned by
John Covan in the 60 lap Coca-Cola Shoot-out on Saturday.

 - Hornaday and the NAPA team are looking forward to the race in Topeka.
Hornaday has won the pole position for both prior events. He won the 1995
race and finished third last year. In the five races on the road courses for
the Truck Series Hornaday has recorded three victories and five top-three
finishes. He has started on the front row four out of the five races.

QUOTES:

NAPA Brakes driver Ron Hornaday on las week's Denver win:

"This NAPA Brakes team keeps giving me great Chevy trucks to drive, it sure
makes it easier," said Hornaday. "I'll say it again...Fred Graves (crew
chief) has been the major factor in this team's turn around. We all are
enjoying what we are doing and it shows. NASCAR is a team sport, you can have
the best equipment, but if the team is not working together toward the same
goal then you are going to struggle."

Comments on this weekend's event at Heartland Park Topeka:

"I love the road courses. Topeka is a place where I have ran well. I feel
good about our chances this weekend. It will be fun...Mike Skinner (1995
Truck Series champion, now in the Winston Cup Series) will be running with us
so it will be like old times," said 1996 champion Hornaday."
