KENNY SCHRADER NOTES & QUOTES: BRICKYARD 400

INDIANAPOLIS, IN - "I am looking forward to going to the Brickyard.
There is such a great feeling of history and prestige there. We are
utilizing a new car which we tested and it ran awesome." ---Kenny
Schrader, driver of the Skoal Bandit Racing Chevrolet

Schrader is optimistic about heading to Indianapolis Motor
Speedway. He returns to the Midwest where he found much success in
open wheel racing divisions. Although he made the move to stock cars,
Schrader still enjoys running an occasional open wheel race. His
diversity is much like his hero, A.J. Foyt's. It was at the Inaugural
Brickyard 400 where Schrader last raced against Foyt which Schrader
recalls as a "memorable experience."

The Skoal Bandit Racing team is taking a brand new race car, #976, to
Indianapolis for the Brickyard 400. They tested the car at Indy and
feel confident it will perform well. They believe it could be the best
car they have in their Winston Cup stable."

Schrader spent this week in the midwest, getting just a little more
seat time. Schrader raced at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa on
Tuesday, July 22, where he won his heat race, but broke the rear
suspension ending his evening of racing. He then went to Crawford
County Speedway in Denison, Iowa in a dirt modified on Wednesday
night. After that race, Schrader headed to Pike's Peak in Fountain,
Colo., for the NASCAR Winston West race. He started on the pole, but
cut a tire, spun and wrecked. He endured a pit fire during repairs,
lost two laps and made them up to finish second, just 17/100 of a
second behind Michael Waltrip!

The Skoal Bandit Racing team had last week off. Much of the team
caught up on some much deserved R&R. Andy Petree and his wife,
Patrice, went to Ocean Isle to enjoy the sun and surf.
