INDIANAPOLIS, IN - The #29 Cartoon Network NASCAR Winston Cup
Chevrolet Monte Carlo that Jeff Green will pilot this weekend is the
same car that qualified seventh and finished seventh at California
Speedway.
Jeff Green and the #29 Cartoon Network team tested at Indianapolis
Motor Speedway July 7-9. "The track is awesome," said Green, who has
never raced at IMS. "The straightaways are long and will be great for
passing. During testing we primarily worked on our race set-up and
were really pleased with our times."
Wes Ward has replaced Bill Ingle as Director of Racing Operations for
Diamond Ridge Motorsports. Ward served as Green's crew chief earlier
this year on the NASCAR Busch Series circuit. The dynamic combination
was a serious contender for the 1997 NASCAR Busch Series championship,
winning the inaugural race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and
accumulating six top fives, seven top tens, two poles and one outside
pole in just 14 NASCAR Busch Series starts.
On Tuesday night, July 29, Jeff Green and the #29 Cartoon Network team
and brother David Green and the #96 Caterpillar team will wage war at
a go-kart track in Indianapolis owned by Stephan Johanson.
On Wednesday, July 23, Jeff Green had minor surgery to correct an
in-grown toenail on his right foot.
