NASCAR Slim Jim All Pro Series Driver Charity Auction and Autograph Session

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - July 31, 1997 CHARITY AUCTION ON TAP FOR FRIDAY NIGHT SPARTANBURG, SC - As a prelude to the NASCAR Slim Jim All Pro Series Bi-Lo Bonuscard 200, to be held on Saturday at Greenville-Pickens Speedway in Greenville, SC, Austin Quality Foods and the drivers of the NASCAR Slim Jim All Pro Series will hold a charity auction on Friday evening, August 1, at J.Jr's Filling Station and Grill in Spartanburg, SC. Beginning at 6:00 p.m., numerous drivers from the NASCAR Slim Jim All Pro Series will be on hand to sign autographs, mingle with the many expected fans, and aid in raising funds for the Shriner's Childrens Hospital of Greenville. Motorsports memorabilia, race car body panels, apparel and other assorted items of interest from various NASCAR Slim Jim All Pro, Craftsman Truck, Busch and Winston Cup Series teams will be auctioned off. Drivers expected to participate include 1996 NASCAR Slim Jim All Pro Series Champion Mike Cope, who now maintains his racing operation in nearby Easley, SC, Austin Cracker Sandwich Chevrolet driver Carl Long, Sugar Hill, GA's Steven Christian, Raleigh, NC's Derrick Gilchrist, Jefferson, GA's Scott Sutherland and Greer, SC's Steven Howard, as well as many additional series participants. J.Jr's Filling Station and Grill, a motorsports-themed restaurant, is owned by Jimmy Rodgers and NASCAR legends Cotton Owens and David Pearson. J.Jr's is located at the intersection of Reidville Road and Highway 295 in Spartanburg, SC. Directions: To get to J.Jr's (Spartanburg location) from Greenville, SC, take Interstate 85 north to Spartanburg, following Business Route 85, then take Interstate 26 east towards Columbia, SC. Go three to four miles and exit at the Reidville Road exit. At the end of the ramp take a left and drive approximately three miles. Fuddrucker's Restaurant will be on the right, take a right and J.Jr's is located behind the Fuddrucker's. There is a gravel/dirt parking area between Fuddrucker's and J.Jr's that needs to be used by any teams that will need hauler parking. All other parking is available for passenger vehicles.
