THE RACE: The Arndt & Herman Windows 200 is the 14th of 20 races on
the 1997 series schedule. Consisting of 200 laps, this event
represents the final event before a three week break in the series
schedule. Since July 3, series competitors have competed in six
events (including tonight's event), the number would have been one
race higher had it not been for Hurricane Danny forcing postponement
of the Pensacola 200 on July 18.

(96.751 mph), (8/10/96) Fastest Avg. Speed: (200 lap) Jeff Fultz,
Milford, OH, Chevrolet, 1 hr., 20 mins., 27 secs., 68.886 mph, 8/10/96

1996 REVIEW: After a wild last lap melee collected several of the
event's leading contenders, Milford, OH's inherited the lead, then
executed a solid green, white, checkered finish to capture his first
career NASCAR Slim Jim All Pro Series win. Rounding out the top five
were Rick Crawford, ron Young, Wayne Anderson and Mike Cope.

NOTES OF INTEREST:

? 37 cars have pre-entered this 200 lap event which carries a maximum
starting field of 30 racers.

? Last year's starting field consisted of only 22 starters. Chances
are very strong that some cars will fail to qualify for this event in
what has proven to be an ultra- competitive season.

? Jeff Fultz, last year's race winner who competed in only 14 events
in 1996, returns as the series points leader for this year's 200 lap
grind.

? This event's sponsor, Arndt & Herman Windows, is also the sponsor of
one of the event's participants, Statesville, NC's Scott Kilby, who is
running a limited schedule in 1997 with the hopes of running the
NASCAR Slim Jim All Pro Series full time in the future.

STAT OF THE WEEK: In 13 events contested to date, there have been 11
different race winners.
