BUCKSHOT JONES NOTES & QUOTES: DETROIT GASKET 200

BROOKLYN, MI - "Michigan Speedway was the first track we competed on that was
over a mile long. It's a wide track that allows a lot of room to race and it
is very forgiving when you need it to be." --Buckshot Jones, driver of the
#00 Aquafresh Pontiac.

The #00 Aquafresh Pontiac Grand Prix that will compete in the "Detroit
Gasket 200" is the same car Buckshot drove in Atlanta earlier this year and
finished fourth.

"Last year at Michigan we were running just as good as Jeff Purvis, who won
the race," Jones said. "Our ignition went out and we went two laps down. We
have been extremely consistent this year, and we look forward to some good
things happening this weekend."

On August 24, fans from North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia and Tennessee
will gather in Independence, Va., for the Buckshot Jones Fan Club Day. The
day is being organized by the town of Independence and Harold Walker, a friend
of the Jones family. There will be food, music and free giveaways. New fans
can sign up for the fan club at the event.
