Diamond Ridge Motorsports Recruits Second Sadler

         HERMIE SADLER NAMED TO DRIVE SECOND BUSCH SERIES ENTRY FOR
                      DIAMOND RIDGE MOTORSPORTS


CHARLOTTE, N.C. (August 15, 1997) --- Diamond Ridge Motorsports
announced today that Hermie Sadler will drive a second entry for their
NASCAR Busch Series operation in 1998.

Sadler, 28, was previously the owner and driver of Sadler Motorsports
who fielded the #1 Chevrolet Monte Carlo on the NASCAR Busch Series
circuit.  Sadler will dissolve his operation in South Hill, Va., and
sell his equipment.

"Hermie is a talented driver and quality individual," said Gary
Bechtel, owner of Diamond Ridge Motorsports.  "This year we developed
a relationship with the entire Sadler family, and they are terrific.
Our future plans include taking Hermie into Winston Cup racing."

Sadler is the brother of present Diamond Ridge Motorsports driver,
Elliott Sadler, who drives the #29 Phillips 66 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
on the NASCAR Busch Series circuit.

"I am excited about working with Diamond Ridge Motorsports and my
brother Elliott," said Sadler.  "Diamond Ridge Motorsports has high
quality equipment, the connections and the resources to develop a
championship team."

"It will be awesome working with my brother," said an enthusiastic
Elliott Sadler.  "Our family is very close and this will be just like
the old days."

This marks Sadler's fifth full season on the NASCAR Busch Series
circuit.  In 134 starts he has accumulated two wins, two poles, 14
top-five and 33 top-ten finishes.  Both of his wins occurred at Orange
County Speedway in 1993 and 1994.  He started racing go karts at age
10 and won the WKA title in 1988. He is a graduate of University of
North Carolina with a degree in Industrial Relations.  Sadler owns
Sadler Auto Center in South Hill, Va., and was once considered the
youngest Chevrolet dealer in the nation.

Diamond Ridge Motorsports has experienced a tremendous amount of
success in the NASCAR Busch Series claiming eight victories, six
poles, 22 top-five and 31 top-ten finishes.  During the 1997 season,
Elliott Sadler has been responsible for three victories, four poles,
six top-five and eight top-ten finishes in 21 starts.  Prior to moving
up and taking over the Diamond Ridge Motorsports Winston Cup entry,
Jeff Green accumulated one win, two poles, six top-five and seven
top-ten finishes in 14 NASCAR Busch Series starts this year for
Diamond Ridge Motorsports.
