RICHMOND, VA - (August 19, 1997) - NASCAR testing continued at Richmond today. Signed in as of 9:00 a.m. were brothers Kevin Grubb and Wayne Grubb, along with Scott Lagasse, Michael Ritch and Mechanicsville, Virginia's Eddie Beahr -- all in Busch Series cars entered in the Autolite Platinum 250 "Showdown at Sundown!" September 5. Seating is open free to fans. *** The winningest owner in Richmond International Raceway history -- Ed Whitaker of Bristol, Virginia -- has entered a Busch Series car at Richmond for Poquoson, Virginia driver Danny Edwards, Jr. Whitaker fielded numerous Busch Series entries at Richmond for Harry Gant who once dominated RIR Busch Series GN action. *** Reliable sources indicate that veteran Tommy Houston will return to the Busch Series wars at Richmond on September 5, joining son, Andy with a dual entry.
