NASCAR Winston Cup Series Pontiac Post-Race Quotes Goody's Headache Powder 500 Bristol Motor Speedway August 23, 1997 BRISTOL, TN - The following provided by Bristol Motor Speedway Public Relations. BOBBY LABONTE (#18 Interstate Batteries Grand Prix) - Started 38th, finished 8th - "Survival was the name of the game. Our game plan going into tonight was to survive -- we knew we needed to finish, to finish good. Survival was the name of the game for us and we were able to dodge the wrecks and the car ran good. That's why we finished where we finished. All the guys on the team did a good job and we gained some points on the leaders. So, all in all, it was a pretty good night." KYLE PETTY (#44 Hot Wheels Grand Prix) - Started 24th, finished 36th - Petty spun in turn 3 on lap 83. - "It wasn't that bad of a night. In fact, it was pretty good. We must have pinched a line or something, right there early in the race, because it burnt a gear which we had to fix. That hurt us, but, other than that, we were running pretty good after that." WARD BURTON (#22 MBNA Grand Prix) - Started 10th, finished 17th - "We just never could get any consistency in the car. It would run good one time, then, it would go away. We were running right with the leaders at the end, but it was too late and we had no consistency." ROBBIE LOOMIS (Crew Chief #43 STP Grand Prix) - Bobby Hamilton started 29th and finished 22nd. He was involved in the multi-car accident on lap 258. - "It was a long night. Typical Bristol, that's all. Bobby's okay, just a little perturbed, I think."
