NASCAR Fines Buckshot Jones for Food City 250 Actions

                 NASCAR OFFICIALS ANNOUNCE PENALTY

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

    DAYTONA BEACH, Fl., (August26, 1997)--- NASCAR officials announced
today that NASCAR Busch Series driver Roy "Buckshot" Jones has been fined
$5,000 and penalized 50 NASCAR Busch Series, Grand National Division
Championship Points for his on-track actions during Friday's Food City 250
race at the Bristol Motor Speedway.

    The penalty was deemed in violation of Section 12, Rule 4, Article A in
the NASCAR Busch Series, Grand National Division Rule Book: actions
detrimental to auto racing.

    Jones also has been placed on probation until December 31,1997 and any
similar, subsequent actions will result in a two (2) race suspension.

The 50 point penalty drops Buckshot to 6th (from 5th) in the Busch series
points standings. Jone's adjusted points are 2741.
