Dale Earnhardt Expects Test Results this Afternoon

MOORESVILLE, NC - As of 12:00 pm (EDT) today, Dale Earnhardt still 
awaits medical clearance to compete in this weekend's NASCAR Select Batteries 
400 at Richmond International Raceway. 

The seven-time Winston Cup champion underwent extensive testing on Tuesday, 
September 2 including a series of circulatory, respiratory, body chemical and 
neurological examinations. 

A number of facilities will participate in test analysis including McLeod 
Medical Center in Florence, SC, the Bowman-Gray School of Medicine in 
Winston-Salem, NC, the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL, and Charlotte 
Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte, NC. 

Earnhardt and Richard Childress Racing expect to receive the test results 
sometime later this afternoon.
