NASCAR SLIM JIM ALL PRO SERIES WINDING DOWN

PENSACOLA, FL - With just one fourth of the 20 race 1997 NASCAR Slim Jim All
Pro Series schedule remaining the points battle is shaping up to be undecided
until the checkered flag waves on the final season event in Homestead, FL on
November 8.

Milford, OH's Jeff Fultz is the current series points leader, and has held
that distinction since the seventh race of the season. Fultz's margin has
been as high as 97 points over former series champion Hal Goodson but Goodson
has shaved 24 points off of Fultz's lead, and Conyers, GA's Ron Young is just
12 points behind Goodson in third. Fultz has been the model of consistency
in '97 having produced one win, seven top-five and 13 top-10 finishes in 15
starts.

Goodson and Young continue to pursue the sophomore standout after notching
recent top five finishes. Before any of these top three series drivers, or any
other series driver that may make a late season points charge, can think
about championship champagne showers, they must first get through the NASCAR
Slim Jim All Pro 200 at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, FL.

As with all events on the '97 schedule thus far, an overflow field of
entrants is expected and a few local hotshoes will attempt to defend their
turf with vigor. Area drivers expected to participate in this 200 lap event
include Eddie Mercer, the current NASCAR Slim Jim All Pro Series Busch Pole
qualifying record holder at Five Flags Speedway, Tracy Goodson and Jr.
Niedecken. These late model pilots know the Five Flags facility well and will
be using this race as an opportunity to get in some serious laps as a tuneup
to the annual Snowball Derby which will be held later in the year at the
0.500-mile oval.

This event, the 16th on the series schedule, was originally scheduled for
July 19, but was postponed due to the incursions of Hurricane Danny on the
Gulf Coast on that weekend.

The NASCAR Slim Jim All Pro 200 is scheduled for Saturday night, September 13
and the activities on that date begin with Team Hauler Parking beginning at
9:00 am followed by Registration & Inspection starting at 10:00 am. NASCAR
Slim Jim All Pro Series Practice will run from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and two lap
Busch Pole Qualifying will get underway at 6:00 pm The green flag will drop
on the NASCAR Slim Jim All Pro 200 at approximately 8:00 pm

In related news, a driver/car appearance is scheduled for Friday evening
September 12 at Tracy's Sports Bar & Grill in Pensacola. Tracy's is one of
Pensacola's newest eateries and is owned by part-time NASCAR Slim Jim All Pro
Series driver Tracy Goodson.

The festivities will get underway after 5:00 pm and cars expected to be on
display include Goodson's Professional Air of Pensacola/Port City Chevrolet,
Carl Long's Austin Snack Crackers Chevrolet, Mike Harmon's Lonesome Pine
Timber Co. Chevrolet and two or three additional series cars. This event will
serve as the official grand opening of Tracy's and many series drivers are
expected to attend and sign autographs in an informal, entertaining
atmosphere.
