ROUSH RACING SIGNS JOHNNY BENSON TO COMPETE IN 1998 For Immediate Release LIVONlA, MICH. -- Roush Racing announced today that it has signed Winston Cup driver Johnny Benson to a multi-year contract. Details of the agreement were not disclosed. "Johnny is a driver with great potential, only some of which has been realized thus far in his career." said Roush Racing owner Jack Roush. He is a smart, fearless driver that shows a great deal of finesse with both his equipment and with his sponsors. He will make a good addition to our team." "I'm delighted to be selected by Jack Roush to compete in the Winston Cop series for him," said Benson, 1993 NASCAR Busch Grand National Champion. "I am looking forward to working with Mark Martin. Jeff Burton, Ted Musgrave and Chad Little to help Roush Racing win many Winston cup championships in the future. I hope some of these are mine." Roush Racing is actively pursuing sponsorship for the program which is unsold as of the date of this release.
