NASCAR Goody's Dash Seies Director Resigns

           NASCAR GOODY'S DASH SERIES DIRECTOR TO LEAVE POST


DAYTONA BEACH, FL - Kim Shaver, of Winston-Salem, N.C. has announced
that he is stepping down from his position as NASCAR Goody's Dash
Series Director to direct his full attention towards his new position
as Regional Maintenance Manager of a national transportation firm.

"This is, without a doubt, the hardest decision I've ever had to
make." said Shaver. "I love these guys and I love this job, but in
order to do the job right, it's going to take more time than I'm going
to be able to give it right now. As you know, situations in life
change from time to time, and this is just one of those changes."

Shaver went on to say that the job demands and responsibilities of his
new position, would make it extremely difficult to concentrate the
time and effort necessary to do both jobs effectively, and he had to
do what was going to be best for all the parties involved.

Shaver, a former Dash Series competitor, himself before going to work
for NASCAR as a Chief Steward at Ace Speedway and Orange County
Speedway in North Carolina and South Boston Speedway in Virginia, will
remain with NASCAR in a consultant/inspector role and will continue to
be active in both, the NASCAR Touring Series and the NASCAR Winston
Racing Series as needed by officials in Daytona Beach, Fl.

Replacing Shaver and sharing the responsibilities as the interim
NASCAR Goody's Dash Series Directors will be Mike Simons and Ed
Cox. Both, Simons and Cox are employed by NASCAR as Special Services
Representatives. Simons has spent the past three years working closely
with NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Director Wayne Auton, while Cox's
responsibilities have centered primarily, around his duties as NASCAR
Featherlite Modified Tour Director.

"I'm really looking forward to working with these Dash teams." said
Simons.  "The level of competition here and the sophistication of this
racing equipment is second to none. We have some great young talent
here on their way up the NASCAR ladder and an excellent group of
veteran racers. It's a good mix and makes for some great
racing. Organizationally, Kim already had everything in place, so Ed
and I will basically just keep the program on track until the new
director can be named."

Shaver, Simons and Cox will be working together closely to make this
transition as seamless as possible and an announcement naming the new
director should be forthcoming from Daytona soon.
