NASCAR BGN Series MBNA 200 Preview: #36, Todd Bodine
17 September 1997
#36 Todd Bodine, Stanley Pontiac Grand Prix NASCAR Busch Series Grand National Division MBNA 200 Advance Dover Downs International Speedway TODD BODINE NOTES & QUOTES: MBNA 200 DOVER, DE - BODINE COMPLETES HAT-TRICK AT MONSTER MILE...While competing in the NASCAR Busch Series, Bodine holds the record for the most wins at Dover Downs International Speedway with three. The first win occurred in the spring race in 1991. The second and third victories occurred in 1993 during the spring race and the fall race, respectively. Team owner Frank Cicci leads all car owners in the NASCAR Busch Series with four wins at Dover. - ANOTHER TOP-10 FINISH FOR BODINE...On May 31, Bodine earned his 14th top-10 finish of the 1997 NASCAR Busch Series season at Dover Downs International Speedway. He placed seventh in the GM Goodwrench/Delco Battery 200 after starting the race in eighth. What should have been a respectable place finish was actually a disappointment as the Stanley team lost the Gatorade Frontrunner Award worth $10,000 and the points lead. - SEEING THE LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL...With the light at the end of the tunnel shining ever so brightly on the NASCAR Busch Series, driver Todd Bodine has five races remaining for his quest of a Championship. Currently, Bodine trails last year's NASCAR Busch Series Champion Randy LaJoie by 179 points. "I enjoy racing at Dover, and have had some good runs there," Bodine said. "A win would definitely help our points situation."
