22 September 1997

BUCKSHOT JONES TO COMPETE IN A LIMITED NUMBER OF WINSTON CUP RACES
                   WITH AQUAFRESH AS PRIMARY SPONSOR

DOVER, DE - The Buckshot Racing team announced on September 19 they
will compete in a limited number of NASCAR Winston Cup races during
1998 with Aquafresh as primary sponsor.

"This race team is ready to step up to the plate and we are very happy
that Aquafresh is going with us," said driver Buckshot Jones. "We have
had an outstanding relationship with Aquafresh for the last two years
in the NASCAR Busch Series and we appreciate their continued support."

In 1998, Jones will attempt to qualify for eight NASCAR Winston Cup
races with Aquafresh as the primary sponsor. The 1998 sponsorship will
also feature Buckshot in advertising and promotional activities
throughout the year. Aquafresh returned for its second year as
primary sponsor of the #00 Pontiac in the NASCAR Busch Series in 1997.

"We realize that by running eight Winston Cup races we will give up
our rookie status," said Jones. "I don't mind the sacrifice for the
opportunity to be part of Winston Cup competition. I am here to race
and Winston Cup is my ultimate goal."

"We have received tremendous support from Aquafresh and we are proud
to continue representing their product," said Buckshot Racing team
owner, Billy Jones. "Buckshot Racing has made tremendous strides in
1997 and I feel that part of that success comes from working with a
top notch company such as SmithKline Beecham."

"Buckshot is considered one of the up and coming drivers in NASCAR and
we feel he has come a long way since we began working together two
years ago," said Alan Schaefer, Vice President and Director of Sales,
U.S. and Marketing Oral Care/Analgesics, SmithKline Beecham Consumer
Healthcare.

"We feel Buckshot has the personality and image that this company
would like to support in a driver," said Gene Page, Senior Category
Promotion Manager, Oral Care, SmithKline Beecham Consumer
Healthcare. "Aquafresh is proud to continue the relationship with this
successful race team and we are looking ahead to a winning year."

While carrying the Aquafresh colors, Buckshot Jones won his first
NASCAR Busch Series race at the Milwaukee Mile in 1996 in only his
18th career start. Since the second race of the 1997 season, Jones has
remained in the top ten in the NASCAR Championship points standings.

"We have proved that we can be a strong contender and competitor in
the NASCAR Busch Series," said Buckshot Jones. "Now we want to take
what we have learned and push forward. We have made great
accomplishments this year, but most importantly, we have had the
support from our sponsor to make those dreams happen."
