NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Chevrolet Post-Qualify Quotes Hanes 250 Martinsville Speedway September 26, 1997 MARTINSVILLE, VA - The following provided by Chevrolet Motor Division, General Motors Corporation Public Relations: RICH BICKLE (#17 Sears DieHard Chevrolet) - Busch Pole Winner - Set new track record: 20.406 seconds/92.796 mph. - "This is just the type of thing this team needs right now. The entire DieHard team has worked so hard all season, and especially over the past two weeks. We came to Martinsville to test last week and it obviously paid dividends today. I owe a lot to Dave Rezendes, who came up here with us last week to help with the test. I was just getting over my appendectomy and him coming with us allowed me to heal and be ready to race this weekend. "Now we can concentrate on the race. This should be a good track for us. We need solid finishes every step of the way to catch Jack Sprague in the points race. A win here would be a great start." RON HORNADAY (#16 NAPA Brakes Chevrolet) - Qualified 4th - "Well, we didn't run as fast as we did in practice. We were a little off, but I'll take it. I think we have a good race setup and we'll be OK." DAVID GREEN (#37 Red Man Golden Blend Chevrolet) - Qualified 6th - "This has been a tough day...jumping back and fourth. I ran the truck here this morning and then had to go on the other side and get the car setup to get into the race. Then come back and qualify the truck. "We haven't had much time to get the truck ready but I'm happy with it." MARK GREEN (Crew Chief, #37 Red Man Golden Blend Chevrolet) - DOES THE TRUCK RESPOND TO SETUP CHANGES LIKE A CAR OR IS IT DIFFERENT? - "The truck sets up just like a car except for the aero part. It's the same shocks, springs as a (Cup) car and you make the same changes. "The aerodynamics are different, we've found. You can pull the nose out a little bit on a truck but that's about all." RICK CARELLI (#6 RE/MAX International Chevrolet) - Qualified 10th - "We didn't run as quick this afternoon as we did this morning. But we're up there pretty good. Most of the time this year we've been starting way back and fightin' our way to the front." JACK SPRAGUE (#24 Quaker State Chevrolet) - Qualified 8th - "Loose...loose...and looser." ###
