Richmond Raceway Announces Free Open NASCAR Late Model Practice

            FREE OPEN PRACTICE FOR NASCAR LATE MODEL STOCK CAR 
            TEAMS IS SET FOR THURSDAY, OCTOBER 9TH AT RICHMOND



RICHMOND, VA - Richmond International Raceway has scheduled an "open"
practice session on Thursday, October 9th for any NASCAR Late Model
Stock Car team planning to compete in the Late Model Stock Car half of
Richmond's November 1st UKROP's General Mills Fall 300 NASCAR
double-header.

There will be no charge to teams during the all day practice, lasting
from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, but all personnel signing in must hold a
valid 1997 NASCAR license.

Goodyear tires have been specified for the 150-lap NASCAR Late Model
Stock Car race on November 1st and Goodyear personnel will be at RIR
throughout the open practice on October 9th with the specified race
tire - Goodyear Code #D 2402 that must be mounted on all four wheels.
