THE RACE: The Greased Lightning 200 is the 18th of 20 races on the 1997
series schedule. This will be the first ever visit for the NASCAR Slim Jim All
Pro Series to the quick and tricky half mile tri-oval. This event will
essentially be a "home track" event for several of the series regulars as Hank
Parker, Jr., Nipper Alsup, Sean Studer and Conrad Burr all base their racing
operations around the Charlotte, NC area. In addition a host of Concord
Motorsport Park regulars should be quite strong in this event. Already
pre-entered are locals Randy Anderson, Mark Reedy, Terry Brooks, Ronnie Jones
and Royce Lane Vail. Brooks, Freddie Query, Bobby Gill and Parker have secured
1997 victories at the track and are expected to be contenders for the
inaugural Concord Slim Jim All Pro Series event win.

RECORDS: Track Qual. Record: First visit to track, track record to be
                                established.

 NOTES OF INTEREST:

 - Over 40 cars have pre-entered this 200 lap event which carries a maximum
starting field of 34 racers.

 - A large crowd should fill the stands as a result of race hungry NASCAR
fans already being in the area for the NASCAR Winston Cup and Busch
Series-Grand National Division events to be held at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

STAT OF THE WEEK: Denver, NC's Hank Parker, Jr., driver of the Delco Voyager
Batteries/NGK/DuraGloss Chevrolet, became the 12th different winner in 17
series events after winning the Winchester 400 at Winchester Speedway in
Winchester, IN. Parker drove the same car to victory at Winchester that he
piloted to a win at Concord Motorsport Park on September 20th.
