TONY KANAAN AND HELIO CASTRO NEVES IN CART IN 1998 Tony Kanaan and Helio Castro Neves, both front runners from this year's Indy-Lights championship, are in Sao Paulo talking to their sponsors. Both Brazilians need 4.5 millions dollars to do the 1998 CART season. Kanaan is talking to Tasman, and was already officially invited to be partner of Andre Ribeiro in 1998 with Marlboro Tasman. Helio's manager Emerson Fittipaldi, who announced last week that his racing days are over, will make a statement tomorrow about Helio's future in the USA. INDY-LIGHTS Cristiano da Matta and Ayrton Dare, who raced with Brian Stewart in Indy-Lights this year, will compete in 1998 for Tasman in Indy-Lights. Felipe Giaffone will test this week with Brian Stewart and is trying to get the full sum to do the 1998 Indy-Lights championship. Oswaldo Negri Jr., who raced this year in 5 races for Genoa Racing, is also trying to get the full sum to do the whole season next year. "I am not happy with this year, I hope next year to get the full budget, so I can do more testing and will have more chances to win" said Negri, who is still in Miami.
