NASCAR Fines Boris Said, III $5K for Behavior at Kragen/Exide 151

8 October 1997

DAYTONA BEACH, FL - NASCAR officials have fined Craftsman Truck Series
driver Boris Said, III $5,000 and penalized him 42 series championship
points for his on-track actions during Sunday's Kragen/Exide 151 at
Sears Point Raceway.

Officials determined that contact with fellow competitor Rich Bickle
was intentional which puts Said in violation of Section 12, Rule 4,
Article A in the 1997 series rule book.

The driver of the #44 Federated Auto Parts Ford owned by Ernie Irvan
has been suspended until the fine is paid. He has also been placed on
probation until December 31, 1997. Any similar incident before then
will result in an automatic two-race suspension.
