Rockingham, Phoenix to Swap NASCAR Winston Cup Weekends

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Oct. 9, 1997)--- NASCAR Officials Thursday
announced the fall NASCAR Winston Cup weekends at North Carolina Motor
Speedway and Phoenix International Raceway in 1998 will swap dates.

The ACDelco 400 in Rockingham originally scheduled for Oct. 25, 1998
will move to Nov, 1 and the Phoenix NASCAR Winston Cup race will move
to Oct. 25.

The change was made in an effort to avoid conflicts between the
Phoenix date and a CART race in Fontana, Calif., the same weekend.
