Winston to Substitute "No Bull 5" for "Winston Million"

TALLADEGA, AL -- In a special announcement, T. Wayne Robertson - president of RJR's Sports Marketing Enterprises, said the there will be 'No Bull' in NASCAR's 50th anniversary in 1998.

Winston, the title sponsor of NASCAR's premier touring series, announced the Winston 'No Bull 5' program will be a substitute for the Winston Million program for 1998.

The two-part program, which could be good for $10,000,000, will expand upon the Winston Million program in the following manner.

The crown jewel events will go from four to 5. The traditional Winston Million program tracks were - The Daytona, the most prestigious; Talladega, the fastest, Charlotte 600, the longest; and Darlington - the oldest.

The new program will add Indy as a crown jewel event and move the qualifying Talladega event to October 11th.

Now to the money.......

A driver will qualify for the program if he finishes in the top-five in a crown jewel event. If one of these 5 qualified drivers wins the next crown jewel event he gets $1,000,000 from Winston.

As T. Wayne Robertson says , "It's a simple program really. Finish in the top-5 in the 5 most prestigious events and you qualify for a million dollar bonus. If a qualified driver wins the next crown jewel event they will pocket a million of Winston's dollars."

The program, which starts with the top-five finishers in this weekends DieHard 500, will run through the 1998 season.

The bucks don't stop there though. T. Wayne Robertson also said that the fans will be included in their own program along with the drivers. Details of this 5 million dollar fan giveaway will be released at the Winston Cup Banquet in New York City in December.
