RON HORNADAY NOTES & QUOTES: THE NO FEAR CHALLENGE

FONTANA, CA - Ron Hornaday and the NAPA Brakes team are hoping for some good
luck at California Speedway, Fontana, Calif. this Saturday. Hornaday has had
mechanical demons attack his Chevy in the past three races. In the last NASCAR
Truck Series event in Bakersfield, Calif., Hornaday broke a rear end gear
while leading, and was knocked out of the race. He finished 28th.

 - The NAPA team moves into California Speedway this weekend. Hornaday tested
his Chevy truck there last week. The test went well. He is hopeful of
recording a top finish and getting the NAPA team back on track.

 - The NAPA team has recorded finishes out of the top 20 in the last three
races. They experienced the same type of drought earlier this season
(5/24-6/6). Their formula to end the drought: Win Hornaday turned it around in
Bristol, Tenn., by winning the pole position, leading every lap, and winning
the event.

 - The team is scheduled to test at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in Las Vegas,
Nev., next week. Hornaday will then return to the East Coast for the weekend.
He will provide "color" commentary for The Nashville Network's (TNN) broadcast
of the Pit Crew Challenge in Rockingham, N.C., for Winston Cup competitors.

QUOTES

Ron Hornaday on California Speedway:

"What a first-class facility! The Penskes have done a great job. The track
itself is very fast. This is new for us in the truck series. We ran Texas and
now here. It takes a little time to get comfortable in the truck at these
speeds. I have lots of racing experience, but like most of the guys here, we
are somewhat rookies on the super speedways."

Ron Hornaday is currently fifth in NASCAR Truck Series points.
