Tony Kanaan and Hélio Castro Neves Comment on Their First Indy Experience The 22 year old Brazilian Helio Castro Neves, second in the Indy Ligths championship in 1997, just arrived in São Paulo to continue seeking sponsors for the 1998 CART season. "The test in the Firebird was fantastic. Yesterday (Friday) I went out and did 43 laps with the Lola chassis," said a happy Helio. Helio was the only driver to finish the test without any pain. "They are all getting old," said the Brazilian about the other drivers. Tasman tested 4 Brazilians: Hélio Castro Neves and Tony Kanaan with the CART Lola chassis, and Airton Darre and Cristiano da Matta with the Indy Lights chassis. Tony Kanaan is talking to Brazilian Gatorade to guarantee the 5 million he needs to take to Tasman for the 1998 season. F-3000 in Jerez Ricardo Zonta, champion of this season, started on the pole for the last round of the 1997 F-3000 championship in Jerez de la Frontera this weekendi. Zonta led for the first laps, but then he lost his car and crashed against the tyres. "This race was very toughr. Since Mugello I only raced with the Jordan F-1 car, so it took me some time to feel good in this car again", said the Brazilian. Zonta is signing with one F-1 team to be a test driver in 1998.
