PITTSBURGH, PA (October 30) - Vivarin, America's #1-selling alertness aid, will join forces with Greg Hodnett for the 1998 World of Outlaws season, Vivarin spokesman Ron Beeman announced Thursday. "We're really excited about continuing Vivarin's association with the World of Outlaws," Beeman said. "We are looking forward to a great relationship with Greg, crew chief Sonny Kratzer and car owner David Helm." Hodnett, a native of Memphis, TN, ranks sixth heading into the World of Outlaws' final two events of the season. The series' 1993 Rookie of the Year won the Wild, Wild Northwest Tour opener at Sweetwater Speedway in Rock Springs, WY, and finished second in the prestigious Knoxville Nationals. Vivarin will also continue its relationship with the World of Outlaws next season, sponsoring a portion of each racing program. In 1998, the yellow and blue Vivarin sprinter will be emblazoned with Helms' and Hodnett's #11H instead of Dave Blaney's #10. "Dave has been a great driver for Vivarin Alertness Aids during our seven-year relationship," Beeman said. "We wish him well as he pursues other opportunities." It was also announced that NicoDerm CQ, a Nicotine Replacement Patch, will be an associate sponsor for the Helms team. Vivarin and NicoDerm CQ are products of SmithKline Beecham Consumer Healthcare.
