Las Vegas Speedway Sets Free Admission for Truck Practice

SPEEDWAY SETS FREE ADMISSION FOR TRUCK PRACTICE LAS VEGAS, NV - Las Vegas Motor Speedway will offer race fans a free preview of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series on Friday, Nov. 7. The speedway will open its gates with free admission to a practice session for the popular pickup truck racing series from 12 noon until 4 p.m. The day is an optional test day for the truck teams, but more than 50 race teams are expected to participate in the test, giving fans a preview of the action they will be able to see in the Sunday, Nov. 9, Carquest Auto Parts 420K, Presented by Las Vegas Events. "This is a great opportunity for race fans in the Las Vegas area who have not had a chance to see the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series," said Gary Bahre, Vice-President of LVMS. "This series is NASCAR's newest series, and it gets more popular every day. We're looking forward to the Carquest 420K." Defending NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series champion Ron Hornaday will be among the top drivers in the event, along with drivers such as Jack Sprague, Rich Bickle, Joe Ruttman and Mike Bliss. In addition, several NASCAR Winston Cup drivers will compete in the event, including Bill Elliott, Ken Schrader, David Green, Mike Skinner and Brett Bodine. Las Vegas Motor Speedway will recognize Nevada residents with "Nevada Family Day" on the day of the Carquest 420K. With proof of residency, Nevada residents will be able to purchase two tickets for the price of one, and children ages 12 and under will be admitted free with a paying adult. The race weekend will also include the NASCAR Winston West Series in a 300-kilometer race on Saturday, Nov. 8, at 4 p.m. At least nine NASCAR Winston Cup drivers will compete in the race.
