LAKE BUENA VISTA, FLA., January 6, 1998 -- Buzz Calkins, winner of the inaugural Indy 200, tested his G Force/Oldsmobile Aurora today in preparation for the season opening Indy 200 at Walt Disney World Speedway. Calkins, who has raced for Bradley Motorsports the past two years, stated that he will continue to drive for them throughout the '98 Indy Racing League season.

"I think we're going to make changes in things that weren't working too well and hopefully get things back on the right track," said Calkins.

Today was also the first day that the team tested the car with the updatekit. Calkins felt the kit contributed to the quick increase in speeds from the first session today to the second, topping out at 162.382 mph. "Considering the amount of laps we ran (60 laps) it went pretty well for the first day," said Calkins.

Others testing at the track today included Tony Stewart of Team Menard and Roberto Guerrero of Pagan Racing with top speeds of 164.459 mph and 162.896 mph respectively. Tony Stewart's teammate, Robbie Buhl, plans to test at the track this Thursday, weather permitting.

Tickets to upcoming events at the Walt Disney World Speedway are available at Ticketmaster by calling 407/839-3900 (Orlando) or 813/287-8844 (Tampa).
