Brazilian Racing News: Kanaan to be Tasman's Sole 1998 Indy Lights Entry
15 January 1998
The Tasman Team announced yesterday that it will take part in the 1998 season Indy Lights season with just one car driven by Brazil's Tony Kanaan, the reigning Indy-Lights champion. Team owner Steve Horne said, "we've analysed the possibilities and this was the most inteligent one: to dedicate all attention to just one car" Kanaan was very happy about the confidence the team showed in his abilities with this decision: "I know it will be very difficult on some days. If at one side the responsability is all on me, I can be sure to have all attention to get the results." "Our plan is to have a second car by the end of this season, with an american driver, and to have 2 cars in 1999, one with Tony and the other with an american driver" said Horne.
