TONY STEWART READY FOR CHALLENGE OF ATLANTA MOTOR SPEEDWAY

HAMPTON, GA --. Moving at the Speed of Life is more than a marketing slogan, it is the model Shell Oil Products Company utilizes in its approach to understanding the needs of todays busy consumer. As the Shell Race Team heads to Atlanta Motor Speedway for the Stihl 300, they are adopting the same improvement through communication approach.

Consistency in qualifying and finishing is our primary goal for 1998, said Stewart. Starting position and maintaining good track position are so important in earning a good finish. If we dont qualify toward the front of the field, it increases the chances of getting caught in early race accidents.

Although the only race I have driven at Atlanta Motor Speedway was on the old configuration, we tested extensively earlier this year on the new track, states Stewart. The results of that testing gave us confidence we have the necessary ingredients for a solid qualifying run this weekend. We are all dedicated to working on the basic principles of a good race team; concentration and attention to detail. Joe Gibbs gives us constant inspiration to attain our goals and Shell provides the example of how to achieve success through communication. I gain more experience at each race which improves my ability to communicate with the crew. We have a winning combination and are ready to turn the corner and bring home our first NASCAR Busch win.
