BGN: Tony Stewart Nashville Release and Fact Sheet

13 March 1998

NASHVILLE, TN - The Shell NASCAR Busch Grand National team knows how to win at Nashville Speedway U.S.A. In 1996, Bobby Labonte captured the victory in the Opryland U.S.A. 320 for Shell. The team returns March 15 with Tony Stewart behind the wheel prepared to put Shell back in the winners circle.

The Shell crew has a proven track record in Nashville with Bobbys win in 1996, said Stewart. It will give us a head start on our setups. The rest will be bringing me up to speed in the car.

This will be my first race at Nashville, stated Stewart. I enjoy the close racing on the short tracks. It will be another step in learning to drive in the Busch Series. Initially, we will concentrate on our qualifying setup. Securing a good starting spot is important in all Busch Series races, particularly on short tracks. The schedule NASCAR has for this weekend will give us plenty of time to set the car up properly. We feel confident we will be competitive at Nashville and bring the Shell Pontiac home with a strong finish.
