Brazilian Racing News: Rossoni in Barber Dodge Series
20 March 1998
Nilton Rossoni, the only Brazilian to race in the Barber Dodge Series starting this weekend in Sebring, will have a tough year in 1998. The 16 year-old Rossoni, who comes from Curitaba, Brazil, said, "I decided to race the Barber Dodge Series, the F-Chevrolet in Brazil and do some testing in Indy Lights." Some time ago, all Brazilian drivers dreamed of going to F-1 to follow Piquet and Senna's steps. Today, our drivers see 2 options: heading to CART or to F-1. The first driver of this new generation was André Ribeiro, followed by Tony Kanaan and Hélio Castro Neves. Rossoni said, "I feel very good living in the US, and I am in a generation that has an option other than F-1, so my way is already planned." Marc Zimmermann -- The Auto Channel
