NASCAR-WCUP: Dare County Tourism Board to Join Forces with LJ Racing in Talladega

MOORESVILLE, NC -The Dare County Tourism Board has agreed to sponsor The LJ Racing Chevrolet driven by Kevin Lepage in Sunday's Diehard 500 at Talladega Superspeedway. Dare County is the home of 130 miles of beautiful beaches on the North Carolina coast. Among the many destinations in Dare County are, Nags Head, Cape Hatteras, Roanoke Island, and Kitty Hawk.

The sponsorship marks the Tourism Board's first venture into Winston Cup racing. Dare County can also list many other famous first events in history. The First Colony, the first ever colony was settled in the area. Wilbur and Orville Wright took the first ever flight in Dare County and the first ever radio transmission came from Hatteras Island.

"We are proud to be associated with The LJ Racing Team and The NASCAR Winston Cup Series," said Dare County Tourism Board Chairman, Warren Judge. "We believe the sponsorship will help build awareness for Dare County inside the racing community."

"I am really excited about the sponsorship and the interest shown by The Dare County Tourism Board," said team owner Joe Falk. "The entire Dare County area has so many popular family vacation destinations, hopefully this will help more race fans choose Dare County for their vacation."

The car will feature the tallest brick lighthouse in America, The Cape Hatteras Lighthouse on the hood. Also featured on the #91 Chevrolet Monte Carlo will be the Dare County Tourism Board's telephone number, 1-800-SEE- DARE.
